Driver, Tashkent At OSCE – Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe

Background:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Fund Administration and coordination with Senior Procurement & Asset Management Assistant the incumbent is responsible for driving and daily maintenance of the office vehicles and when required assistance in fulfilment of routine administrative and logistics tasks.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of Chief of Fund Administration Unit and co-ordination of Senior Procurement & Asset Management Assistant the incumbent is responsible for: 1. Drives office vehicles for the transport of authorised personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items – Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates customs formalities as required; – Delivers and collects mail, documents and other items as required.

2. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of office assigned vehicles . – Checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc. – Performs minor repairs and arrangements for other repairs – Ensures that the vehicles are kept clean – Ensures that vehicles are timely refuelled.

3. Logs official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil change, greasing, change of spare parts, etc.

4. Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in the accident.

5. Performs other duties as assigned

– Assist administration to procure kitchen/building/cleaning supplies

– Receives freight at the airport and facilities custom formalities, as requried

Necessary Qualifications:

  •  Completed secondary education;
  •  Valid driver’s license knowledge of local driving rules and regulations including mastery of evasive driving techniques.
  •  Minimum 2 years work experience as a driver; safe driving record;
  •  Awareness of basic rules of chauffeur courtesies;
  •  Skills in minor vehicle repair, initiative and discretion;
  •  Good knowledge of the city of Tashkent and surroundings;
  •  Good knowledge of Uzbek and Russian is required. Some knowledge of English is desirable;
  •  Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;
  •  Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  •  Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Remuneration Package:

Appointment is normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
